I am the author of NewsInjector. I have a day job and develop corporate software for the clients of my employer, 40 hours a week.

NewsInjector is my "pet" project that I develop in my free-from-day-job time. My employer knows about NewsInjector and I have written permission to work on it.

Where am I located and where do I come from?

Currently, I live in Stuttgart, Germany, approximately 3km north of ex-DaimlerChrysler headquarters. Stuttgart is a nice place to live. My wife, my two children and I enjoy living here.

I was born in Trakai, Lithuania, approximately 1600km north-east from where I live now. Trakai is a tiny town with a beautiful castle in the middle of a lake.

Do I have enough time and energy for NewsInjector?

I work on it up to 1 hour a day. 1 hour a day adds up to between 200 and 365 hours a year. This is enough time to develop a useful tool. Application development is advantageous because all improvements accumulate, even the most tiny ones. If you do something daily, you notice the result.

Can I read and write?

I can read in 4 languages: Lithuanian, English, German and Russian.

I can write in 3 languages: Lithuanian, English and German.

Have I ever built a hot air balloon?

Yes, once I've built a hot air balloon out of polyethylene. It was big enough (~900m3) to lift an adult. The test flight was my first and the only flight with a hot air balloon so far. I am still alive. No injuries. If you ever decide to build a hot air balloon - go for it but take all safety precautions. I suggest contacting the local hot air ballooning club. I did and they enthusiastically provided me with a gondola (we used only mounted burner) and helped launch my balloon. Heating 900m3 of air is not a trivial thing. You need a lot of fire and experience.

How long/far did I fly? ~2 minutes, ~15 meters high. The balloon was attached to a car on a rope. When it reached the limit, the back of the car moved slightly. Hot air balloon is lighter than the air but the mass is huge. The air inside my balloon had a mass of more than 1000kg. If it gets moving it can get dangerous.

300m*1.5m of polyethylene, more than 600m tesa tape, somewhat crazy man and his wife, one summer. Dreaming in the air, isn't that nice?
